Paula is an elegant and sophisticated home executive whose two grown sons had left home several years earlier. Paula’s time was dominated by managing the numerous household projects including several major renovation projects both inside and outside her home. When Paula contacted Living Peace there were several projects particularly weighing on her and getting in the way of her daily functioning.
- Develop a system for organizing and storing the large collection of family photographs currently taking over her home office.
- Weed out and reorganize the basement storage areas to make the items stored there easy to locate and access.
- Setup systems to store food and dog supplies in the pantry recently added by a major home renovation.
- Weed through many closets and storage areas to remove unnecessary items and make the remaining items more convenient.
Paula worked with her professional organizer to identify the major categories that she wanted to use to sort her photographs for easy retrieval. Then, they identified the appropriate location to store the photos and purchased appropriate archival quality boxes to insure that these treasures would be protected over time.
Paula and her Living Peace organizer worked together to identify the major categories of items that were currently being stored in the family’s basement. They worked together to sort the items into those categories, weed out the unnecessary items, and to choose and setup appropriate storage solutions to make retrieving necessary items more convenient.
While the home renovation was still finishing, Paula and her organizer set up a temporary system on the landing of her basement stairs for her pantry supplies to be housed away from the dust and renovation grime. Then, when the new walk-in pantry space was finally completed, Paula worked with her organizer to identify the major categories of food and dog supplies that were going to be stored in the new space and together they set up a system that allowed for both easy access and ongoing maintenance of the pantry shelves.
Finally, Paula worked with her Living Peace organizer to work through all the home’s closets and storage areas (including the master bedroom closet, linen closet, and front hall coat closet amongst others) to weed out unnecessary items and make those spaces more convenient and functional.
Her work with Living Peace ended in creating a more polished system for organizing her family recipes in a system of new recipe binders, which reinvigorated Paula’s passion for cooking delectable meals for herself and her husband.
